March is Social Work Month! To celebrate our profession, we want to honor social workers such as social reformer Jane Addams, former Labor Secretary Frances Perkins, and civil rights leaders Dorothy Height and Whitney Young. These leaders have helped Americans secure voting rights, Social Security, unemployment insurance, and other programs.

The profession of social work has allowed me to touch people's lives in so many ways; as therapist, case worker, teacher and program manager to name a few. I feel privileged to continue serving others in my current role as a daily money manager where I utilize all my social work background and training to assist seniors and veterans with their financial matters. I love this profession and even with all the challenges and issues social workers struggle with on a daily basis, I am truly proud to have chosen the profession of social work as my life's work!

Celebrate with NASW WI South Central Branch and the UW School of Social Work Wednesday, March 13 from 3-7 pm. For full program details click here.
